10/15 Find It, Fix It Walk postponed

Saturday’s Find It, Fix It Walk with the Mayor is postponed. Here’s a message from the City staff who are organizing the walk:

“Due to a severe weather forecast for this coming Saturday, October 15, and out of an abundance of caution, the Crown Hill / Whittier Heights Find It, Fix It Walk will be postponed until a later date.Safety is the number one priority in this decision. Both with City staff needed for emergency response efforts and potential dangers facing neighbors, a walk on Saturday would not provide the opportunity you deserve to voice your concerns.”
Stay tuned. Whittier Heights Community Council and the Crown Hill Committee for Smart Growth are coordinating the walk with the City, and will keep you posted in a new date. Please check our websites for updates: WHCC and CHUV-CSG.

Here’s today’s 17 lb. bounty of kale, beans, zucchini, tomatoes, snap peas and chard. A food bank shopper commented, “you can’t get more local than that!”
